Sony Ericsson P990 Ultimate Smart Phone

It’s just hot of the presses, Sony Ericssons latest mobile phone: Sony Ericsson P990. It’s not just a phone. It’s what ever you want it to be. It’s a radio, no it’s a pda, no it’s a music player or no, no, it’s a camera,…. It’s everything…. in the same device.
sony-ericsson-p990-open.jpg sony-ericsson-p990.jpg sonyericsson-p99032.jpg sonyericsson-p99025.jpg
So, the 3G insures enough bandwidth to do anything net related with it. It has wLAN, IR, Bluetooth, so connectivity is no problem. Multimedia is represented here by the 2MP camera, the obscene large screen (although, it’s somewhat smaller than other P-Series representatives), by radio, VideoCall etc.
sonyericsson-p99003.jpg sonyericsson-p990-14.jpg sonyericsson-p990-09.jpg sonyericsson-p990-08.jpg
An interesting point it would be the fact that previous P-series users have complained that it’s a slow phone. So my advice would be to get Sony Ericsson P990. But try to have a test run before.

MOTOROLA RAZR V3

MOTOROLA RAZR V3 has been on the market for some time now. It has been unanimously acclaimed as a stylish phone, but what about the things it can do besides looking good?

motorola razr v3
Well, according to the manufacturer, Motorola RAZR V3 it has 5MB built in memory. But, no card slot, so don’t even think of using this one as a music player or for storing photos.
It has the standard messaging functions: SMS, MMS, and E-mail.
motorola-razrv3-1.jpg motorazr-v3.jpg motorazr-v3-3.jpg
The camera is a standard VGA Camera. Unfortunately it only takes pictures. No video possible.

So, no video capture and not a huge memory, but if you want an intuitive phone, comfortable in the pocket, well made (more phones should use aluminium) MOTOROLA RAZR V3 is for you.

Nokia 6680

Nokia 6680 cell phone is one of the most used cell phones around.
With very few things missing, it has been apreciated, by users around the world.

no6680_00.jpg no6680_01.jpg

It has a sturdy construction, a 1.3 mp camera, the possibility of expanding memory by memory card. Regarding the memory card, Nokia recommends a maximum 512 MB card. However, users are known to have used cards up to 2GB.

The majority of problems, that resulted from using a card, bigger than 512 MB, are described as the phones are working a bit slower than usual. This has been solved by not using folders.

As said before, the lacks are few. Most important are:

  1. No – WiFI connectivity
  2. No IR
  3. No Radio

Any other software lacks, are easily repaired by a multitude of phone software that one can get over the Internet at a reasonable price, or even free. Because of this, some users use the phone as a pda phone.

Video call is another interesting feature. What must be known, is that you must be under 3G coverage, if you have to make, or receive a video call.

I have tested it personally and it is remarkable, a little bit shaky if you move around, but still ok. The connectivity is great, both with bluetooth and cable. The package comes with the standard dku 2 cable, and the dku 2 driver available on CD.

Photographs on these Nokia cell phones are acceptable, the quality depending on the light being available. All and all this phone is great. If you want a phone that can do almost everything, I strongly suggest buying this one.

Motorola PEBL U6 aka Motorola PEBL V6

Different users say that average battery life may last 3-4 days. Full recharging takes a bit longer than 2 hours.

motorola-pebl-v6-4.jpg 11200_motimage.jpg motorola-pebl-v6-2.jpg motorola-pebl-v6-1.jpg

Motorola PEBL V6 has been praised for it’s design, but it also has its critics. Since Motorola announced it in 2005 people divided in two main categories: the followers and the avid haters.

The main characteristic of the Motorola PEBL U6 is it’s being stylish. It has a high quality finish, has no insertions or covers of metal the body being almost all made of it. A distinct feature is the keypad. The keys are formed by curved lines, people with long nails having appreciated this keypad.

The main disadvantage of the phone is the menu. It seems as if Motorola failed to catch up with technological innovations as it still uses interfaces from models like V300, V500, and V600, which are three-year old now. In the mean time other manufacturers have made a huge progress in making their interface more user-friendly, leaving Motorola far behind.

As said before users have split up in two different categories

Some users hate it because of the small memory (only 5 or 6 MB), low qual VGA camera, menu structure (but then, we are talking about a Motorola here), and even, in some cases because of it’s fragility.

On the other hand, it’s been praised for it’s design ofcourse, the easiness the flip cover works, and exceptional display.

In conclusion, if you want a stylish phone, and use it as a mobile, not camera, or music player, you might want to consider this phone
