Mobile Radiation Affects Human Skin

One of the most popular subjects of study is mobile radiation, especially how cell phone radiations affect the human skin. After being related with cancer of salivary gland and brain tumour, a new study conducted in Finland has found a link between radiations of mobile phone and alteration in the expression of protein-a group of Finnish scientists concluded that the radiation from mobile phones alters protein expression in people.

Scientist Dariusz Leszczynski of Finnish Radiation and Nuclear Safety Authority said: “Mobile phone radiation has some biological effect. Even if the changes are small, they still exist.”

During the experiment, the participants forearm’s skin was exposed to GSM signal for about 1 hour and then the skin biopsies were taken from the exposed as well as non-exposed part of the skin to further comparison. After having analyzed 580 proteins, the researchers found that 8 type of protein have significant change in its expression. But they also stated that it is too early to jump to any conclusion on the effect of such changes on human health.

Other studies put people at the risk of brain tumour due to the proximity of the brain to the radiation antenna which can absorb a large amount of electromagnetic energy. While other researches found out that those who use cell phones more frequently are more likely to develop parotid gland tumours.

All over the world, researchers took up the study to find the side effects of using mobile phones. In India foe example, researchers at the Indian Council of Medical Research are studying the role of these radiations and its effects on memory, sleep patterns and hearing capability.

Sony Ericsson C902:Cyber-shot

The new Sony Ericsson C902 detaches itself from the models in K series, creating a new propre Cyber-shot brand. As a consequence, the Cyber-shot handsets won’t use anymore the “K’ letter, but the “C”, from Cyber-shot in order to designate the model’s name.

Sony Ericsson C902 is a 3G phone with HSDPA support, a camera of 5 megapixel with autofocus and flash and QVGA display, the camera being the most important feature of this phone. It has the same multishot functions as the other models, but C902 also includes the “Face Detection” feature, red-eye reduction and image stabilizer. When not in use, the camera has external protection for the lens, and when it is opened by the user, the touch-sensitive controls become active around the main screen.

It weights 107g, its dimensions are 108 x 49 x 11mm, it has GSM quad-band network, UMTS 2100 and Bluetooth, intern memory of 106 MB and Memory Stick Micro memory card.

The phone doesn’t have GPS incorporated, this meaning that the pictures cannot be ‘geotagged’ with geographical information, but it seems that Sony Ericsson will have, in the future, a mobile appliance with a camera of 5 megapixel and GPS navigation system.

Sony Ericsson C902 will be available on the market in the second trimester of the year, having two possible colors: ‘Luscious Red’ and ‘Swift Black’. The price is still unknown.

Nokia 8800 Arte-a new piece of jewelry

For the new launched series 8800 Arte, Nokia has an artistic approach manifested in the two new members: Nokia 8800 Arte and Nokia 8800 Sapphire Arte. Made of special materials, both phones continue the tradition of the luxury series 8800, though coming with some improvements.

Using the word “Arte”, which makes direct refference to art, the new model presents some new solutions for the design and some technical inovations. For example, the “tap-for-time” function allows the user to see the watch on the display with the help of a short touch on the metallic surface under the screen. The dinamic wallpaper is also present. Another extra-function is that of stoping the ringtone when receiving a new call, by simply turning the phone with its face down.

Besides the 3G connectivity, the phone is also equiped with a 3 megapixel autofocus camera. It doesn’t have a slot for the memory card, but he 1 GB intern memory should be sufficient, and the microUSB port also helps at the connection through cable.

Nokia 8800 Arte is nicknamed ‘Gina’ and it has a black case. The case is made of Indian goat skin, hand-made, and the degradation is prevented through multiple protective layers. It is also made of metal and glass, and it seems it is covered with some protective layers against prints, but personally, I’ll be convinced of this when I see the phone in front of my eyes. :)

Nokia N96
The first concept of Nokia N96 appared this year, in March, on the Internet and it caused a lot of discussions on special forums, about its features or design. It is sure that N96 is the ’successor’ of N95 and it is a mighty dual slider, but some still say this phone does not exist in reality.

The new N96 packs a solid 16 GB of storage in addition to a microSD slot, a feature that N95 lacks. It has a 5 megapixel autofocus camera with Carl Zeiss Tessar and also two LEDs doing flash and video light duty. The display is 3.2 inch and it shows images in 16 million colors, and the phone also has DMB TV suport, FM radio and moving senzors.

For the integrated DVB-H mobile TV tuner, it has a 2.8 inch QVGA display, and a 3.5mm headphone jack, A2DP, and integrated stereo speakers are handling audio with aplomb. It also offers a built-in GPS receiver with A-GPS support, Wi-Fi with UPnP/DLNA support and Bluetooth. Morphing lights are to be found on the smaller second slide hat hook the user up with game controls during some N-Gage action.

But the the first version of the N96 supports HSDPA only on the 900 and 2100MHz bands. Even so, the estimated price of this 102.5 x 56 x 17.6 mm phone is somewhere around $ 797. It is surely one of the most ‘expected’ phones in the world, having a good performance, design and features.

After the announcement at the Mobile World Congress 2008, we are ready to present you the new Sony Ericsson G900 UIQ smartphone.

New Sony Ericsson G900

Considered the ‘bigger brother” of G700, the new phone is almost identical with this one, but it has more to offer- it brings Wi-Fi support and a 5 megapixel auto focus camera. The G900 measures 106×49x13 mm and weights 99 g; these are exactly the same dimensions for G700, but it is interesting the fact that the new phone has more features.

Sony Ericsson G900 also uses a 208 MHz processor and it also got 128MB of RAM. Its dispaly is not very large, but good enough, and above the display the video-call camera and the erapiece are to be found. Even if its colors are quite poor, G900 has a transreflective display and when it comes about sunlight legibility the phone can be placed near Nokia and Apple iPhone.

G900’s keypad is nice, but it is nont as friendly as G700’s, having the alphanumeric keys quite large. In comparison with G700, it lacks the two context keys used for supreme one-handed stylus-free operation of the handset.

New Sony Ericsson G900

Sony Ericsson G900 has the standard BST-33 Li-Po battery with a capacity of 960 mAh, having a capacity of 380 h of standby and up to 12 h of talk time.

With the new Sony Ericsson G900 “touch and go” you can choose how to use your phone (make a call, listen to a song, visit a Web site, etc) with just touching the screen with the finger. The official available colors for this phone are Dark Red and Dark Brown, but there is a possible limited market availability.

Shortly, these are some of the most important features os G900:

Camera: auto focus; 5 megapixel; image stabiliser; red-eye reduction; digital zoom- 3x;picture blogging; video recording; video stabiliser;

Music: album art; Bluetooth stereo; media player; MegaBass; Music tones- MP3, AAC; TrackID;

Internet: Web browser; Web feeds; WAP 2.0 XHTML; WAP 1.2.1;

Entertainment: Radio Fm; 3D games; Java; Media; Video viewing and streaming;

Connectivity: Bluetooth; Modem; Syncronisation; USB support; WLAN;

Messaging: E-mail; instant messaging; MMS; SMS; sound recorder;

Communication: polyphonic ringtones; speakerphone; vibrating alert; video calling;

Organiser: alarm clock; calendar; calculator; document editors and readers; flight mode; notes; phone book; stopwatch; tasks; timer; touch-screen;

Design: navigation key; picture wallpaper.

As a conclusion, even if there are no big differences between G900 and G700, the new phone is very attractive, especially because of the “touch and go” feature. Personally, I would be interested in such a phone as it has a lot of interesting features than other phones we are used to.
