This week, at London, LG made some serious promises about some special devices: new camera phones of 10 megapixel, HD video and even speech recognition GPS technology. It sound really nice, but the world will see them only in 2009, if LG keeps its promises about these features. LG also focused on its newest mobile phone, the KC-910, which is also great, coming equipped with an 8 megapixel camera, image and video editing tools, Dolby sound and DivX compatibility.
It seems that mobile manufacturers are focusing more and more on the camera for the phones, as they are always improving this feature. 8 megapixel devices already exist, Samsung have announced a 9 megapixel device, and now LG makes promises of a 10 megapixel camera.
The improvement of HD technology is another important aspect, as manufacturers want this feature into the camera phones; in this way, a quite simple phone may turn into a device able to shoot HD videos as well as shooting with a 10 megapixel camera.
Well, I think we should wait and hope that they will keep their promises and next year we will see this unique device with our own eyes. I am not sure whether the pictures are real or it is just the idea, but it looks interesting.
Here we are with the review of one of the most bought devices: Nokia 3600 slide. It is a very nice and compact phone, with a smooth exterior and S40 user interface, and it is equipped with a 3.2 megapixel camera, VGA video, and TV.
For those of you who haven’t heard of it or don’t know too many details, here are the most important features and specifications of Nokia 3600: nice oval shapes and neat slider design; Quad-band GSM/GPRS/EDGE support; a 2″ 16M-color QVGA display; a 3.2 megapixel camera, with auto focus and LED flash; VGA video recording; S40 user interface, the 5th edition, and FP1; Bluetooth with A2DP connectivity; USB; Stereo FM radio with RDS; microSD card slot (up to 8 GB), 512MB included; a 2.5mm standard audio jack, and TV-out; rich preinstalled content; Nokia Maps; voice commands; compact and lightweight; SMS, MMS, Email, and Instant Messaging; size of 97.8 x 47.2 x 14.5 mm, and a weight of 97.3g.
But it also has some disadvantages: it doesn’t have 3G support; the camera image quality is average; it has a very rigid shutter key; the memory card slot under the hard-to-remove rear cover; the bottom row of keys gets scratched when sliding; the battery falls off immediately when the rear cover is removed.
Personally, I like this phone, both features and look. As you can see in the images bellow, Nokia 3600 is available in dark Red with black, Black, as well as dark Silver.
It seems that more and more luxury car manufacturers are launching their own mobile devices. The newest device in this trend is the Sagem/Porsche P9522 candybar phone, and, as its name says it, it is made by Sagem in collaboration with Porsche.
The main features and specifications of P9522 are: standard Porsche font and style; a 2.8 touchscreen with reinforced mineral glass; a 5 megapixel camera; built-in GPS receiver; WiFi connectivity; fingerprint reader. But the main disadvantage is the fact that it lacks the 3G feature.
It seems that Sagem/Porsche P9522 will be found next month, in the French markets, at the price of 600 Euros. Well, I think it’s a stylish device, even if it doesn’t have too many features.

It’s been heard from two sources, so it must be true: Nokia’s newest XpressMedia device, the Nokia 5800 Tube, will be announced on October the 2nd, at London. This is good news, especially for those of you who expected such a device until Christmas.
The Tube is Nokia’s first touchscreen device, with a focus on media as well, and is also in competition with the iPhone and others, similar. But here are the most important features and specification of Nokia 5800 Tube: 640 x 350, 3.2-inch touchscreen display with 16 Million colors; Quad-band (850/900/1800/1900Mhz) GSM/EDGE radio; a 3.2 megapixel camera with autofocus; Bluetooth 2.0 connectivity; WiFi; GPS; a 3.5mm headphone jack; TV-out port; 140MB on-board storage; size of 111 x 52 x 14.5 mm, and a weight of 104g.
The announcement will take place next week, but it will be officially launched at the end of the year.

It seems that Sony Ericsson is preparing for us another device. I am talking about a new Sony Ericsson Cyber-shot phone and we even got two images of it, even if they are blurry.
This device also has a nickname-Kate-and it will replace the K770 model. If you take a look at the images, you can notice that it resembles very mush with the W902 model. Sony Ericsson ‘Kate’ will be equipped with a 5 megapixel camera and a new lens cover like the Sony Digital Camera T2. But that’s all we know about Kate.
We also know that Swedish-Japanese makers will officially introduce Kate in the fourth quarter of the year. Until then, stay with us, and we’ll let you know what Kate can do.

Here we are with another concept phone, this time made for Russia’s Scartel. Unlike other concepts, this phone has great chances to be made and launched.
Art Lebedev artists designed this WiMAX handset and dream that the concept phone will be made for use; this would probably happen on Scartel’s Russian WiMAX networks, both in Moscow and St. Petersburg.
Well, as it is a concept phone, we have quite a few details on it. But it seems that the WiMAX handset will have WiMAX connectivity, WiFi, a front and rear-facing camera, and a class-topping 850×480 display. It will also have a tri-band GSM radio, probably a 850Mhz band, and of course, as you see, a giant touchscreen.
A few days ago we informed you about Samsung’s new devices, the Beat edition. One of these phones, the Samsung M3200 (or Samsung Beat s) is considered quite a mediocre music device.
The M3200 is basically designed for music playback and it doesn’t have strong features. It is a GSM-only phone that comes with a 2 megapixel camera, a 2″ 240 x 320 pixel display, a microSD memory slot, Bluetooth 2.0 and a USB 2.0 connection. Its size is of 97 x 47 x 17mm and its weight is of 101g. It has a talktime of 7 hours and 21 hours of music playback.
The music player supports MP3, WMA, AAC, AAC+ and e-AAC+ audio formats and different types of digital rights management (DRM). It also comes with Shazam’s “Find Music” application and an automatic equalizer function, an FM radio with RDS, and a 3.5mm audio jack and dedicated media control keys.
The M3200 Beat s is a pretty good music phone, but this is all it can offer; its features aren’t very great and it doesn’t have a fashionable look. It is said that this device should be used more in the Americas, rather than in Europe. It will be launched sometime in October, but the exact availability and price are unknown.
Samsung have just announced a new device, with quite a starnge name: the Samsung Anycall Haptic 2. This model is actually the second version of the Samsung Tocco.
This phone comes with a haptic touchscreen and an updated user interface with 50 new widgets, which is also customizable and with it, users are able to create their own menu on the desktop. The new Samsung device comes equipped with a 5 megapixel camera with anti-shake, auto focus and 12 shooting modes, 16GB memory (expandable), a large 3.2″ screen with 16:9 display, and mobile TV.
If you travel to Korea, you will be able to buy this device, as it is going to be available only there. Samsung Tocco 2 will be launched next year and it will probably have more advanced features, like an 8 megapixel camera, for example.
