Nokia gets a 500 million EUR for smartphone R&D

The loan with the European Investment Bank is meant to part-finance software R&D projects from 2009 to 2011 to deliver more competitive Symbian-based smartphones.
The Symbain Foundation is also expected to support this project in the near future.
This loan from the EIB follows the successful inauguration of Nokia’s first Euro Bond transaction that raised 1.75 billion EUR for the company.
