So small, but so smart…the Toshiba G450 device is more than just a phone; it also works as an MP3 player, an USB memory stick, and as a modem. And it seems that all you have to do is unbox where you need to insert the battery, and then add an appropriate SIM and let it charge a while. Quite a simple process.

Main features and specifications: 2100 for UMTS, 900/1800/1900 for GSM, GPRS, EDGE band; OLED 96 x 39 pixels display; UMTS/HSDPA (7.2Mbps)/GSM/GPRS/EDGE system; Qualcomm MSM6280 chipset; 160MB internal memory; mini USB connectivity; SMS messaging; MP3, AAC, AAC+, eAAC+ formats; 98 x 36 x 16 mm, and 57g; and it comes with accessories: mini USB cable, stereo headset, battery,

Well, these are its main features, working as a phone. But the G450 also works as something else.

The Modem: The G450 lets you link any laptop to the Web, using an HSDPA mobile network. It also offers easy mobile broadband internet access through the “Plug and Play” USB modem; HSDPA support; it is a modem that combines voice and data, without affecting the form or functions.

The MP3 player: You can take up to 160MB of music with you; the G450 appears as an extra drive on your PC; and if you are called while listening, the MP3 player is paused for the duration of the conversation; it also comes with stereo headphones.

The Toshiba G450 is already available in the UK, at the price of £140. You can read much more information on Toshiba-Europe’s Web page.
