In order to combat all the fuss cause by the usage of mobile phone tehnologies ReCellular, a leading recycler of mobile phones, is encouraging everyone to take an active part in saving the environment by simply donating old, worn-out phones. ReCellular expects to collect 4 million phones in 2007, with support from retailers, charity groups and grassroots organizations. These partners create a nationwide network of more than 40,000 sites that collect cell phones of every make, model and age - enabling consumers to donate cell phones safely and conveniently. ReCellular offers to pay up to $50 for every donated phone, with proceeds benefiting charities such as the March of Dimes, Cell Phones for Soldiers as well as domestic violence prevention and education programs. Statistics show that 1 out of 3 Americans will replace phones this year, equivalent to 500 million units set for resale or recycle. The spokeperson for ReCelullar states that consumer awarenss is this campaign’s main challenge, because few know that the simple act of dropping their old phone in a collection box benefited both the environment and a worthy cause like March of Dimesis. This is why we enocourage you to be a part of this campaign!
