For the new launched series 8800 Arte, Nokia has an artistic approach manifested in the two new members: Nokia 8800 Arte and Nokia 8800 Sapphire Arte. Made of special materials, both phones continue the tradition of the luxury series 8800, though coming with some improvements.

Using the word “Arte”, which makes direct refference to art, the new model presents some new solutions for the design and some technical inovations. For example, the “tap-for-time” function allows the user to see the watch on the display with the help of a short touch on the metallic surface under the screen. The dinamic wallpaper is also present. Another extra-function is that of stoping the ringtone when receiving a new call, by simply turning the phone with its face down.

Besides the 3G connectivity, the phone is also equiped with a 3 megapixel autofocus camera. It doesn’t have a slot for the memory card, but he 1 GB intern memory should be sufficient, and the microUSB port also helps at the connection through cable.

Nokia 8800 Arte is nicknamed ‘Gina’ and it has a black case. The case is made of Indian goat skin, hand-made, and the degradation is prevented through multiple protective layers. It is also made of metal and glass, and it seems it is covered with some protective layers against prints, but personally, I’ll be convinced of this when I see the phone in front of my eyes.
