Symbian Guru security software

A new version of Symbian Guru security software has been released. It is meant to protect the device from theft and unauthorized access.

Features and specificationsphone_guardian_1 for Phone Guardian 3.0: a GPS support added in order to allow users to trace their phone more accurately, new SMS commands, a new start option (clicking on an icon and also using a previous secret combination).

Phone Guardian is programmed to lock the device automatically, and the unlock of the phone is possible only with a application password.

You can test Phone Guardia 3.0 within a 5-day full functioning trial. If you like the application you can purchase it from Symbian Gurus’s website.

HTC Magic

This new device from HTC is going to have exclusivity to Vodafone. Unlike its predecessor (the HTC Dream), the HTC Magic doesn’t have a QWERTY keyboard, but its lighter and slimmer.

Gigabyte g-Smart S1200

Unlike the MS820, the Gigabyte g-Smart S1200, is a new release. Some supplimentary features for this model are: HSUPA to the connectivity set and a larger 3.1-inch WVGA touchscreen screen.

Nokia gets a 500 million EUR for smartphone R&D

The 5-year 500 million EUR loan agreement has just been announced by Nokia. The loan with the European Investment Bank is meant to part-finance software R&D projects from 2009 to 2011 to deliver more competitive Symbian-based smartphones.

The Symbain Foundation is also expected to support this project in the near future.

This loan from the EIB follows the successful inauguration of Nokia’s first Euro Bond transaction that raised 1.75 billion EUR for the company.nokia_logo_1

Motorola with a Kodak camera

Nokia N86

The expected release date for Nokia N86, the first 8 megapixels shooter from Nokia, is July 22 2009. The announce comes from Expansys, a store known for its high prices.

Sony Ericsson W595

The new intriguing and modern Sony Ericsson W595 has a 2.2-inch QVGA display and a 3.2. megapixels camera. All the walkman goodies are not available as on other Sony Ericsson devices but the W595 compensates in other specs and features.

The 8-megapixels Sony Ericsson C905 Cybershot is to be offered by Rogers in the near future.
