Review: Samsung D880

Samsung D880 is considered a 2-phones-in-one device. It is a phone equipped with a great solid design and the unique Samsung quality. Its great feature is the fact that it has the dual-SIM functionality, but also a 3 megapixel camera and a large 2.3″ QVGA TFT dispaly.

Samsung D880 Duos doesn’t offer an extraordianary external design or interface capabilities, but it does have style in its look, and most of all it features the dual SIM. Unfortunatelly it lacks 3G and Web browsing. It also has a 3 megapixel camera with autofocus, a large display, stereo Bluetooth and TV-out connectivity.

Its dimenssions are 104 x 51 x 18.9 mm and it weights 116 g. It is also thicker than D900i, all its covers are made of plastic and the battery cover is made of a soft rubber-like matt finish, which gives a leather-like look.

All in all, its main features are: first of all the dual-SIM functionality; the 3 megapixel autofocus camera, which has a good image quality; the 2.3″ 262K-color TFT display; a microSD memory card slot; FM radio; Bluetooth connectivity and TV out; MS Office document viewer; quick interface response, nice and comfortable keyboard and controls.

Samsung D880’s main disadvantages are: secondary SIM has dual-band support only and can be used for telephony and messaging only; poor sunlight legibility; doesn’t have 3G support; poor Web browser and music player; and a larg size.
