The latest version of the Walkman phone, W580i, comes up with new multimedia features to the popular music phone.
The phone is addressed to the young audience, people with active social life, addicted to music and communication. The phone is made with an “urban style” and it comes with two options of colour: ‘white style’ and ‘ urban grey’, both being quite attractive. The W580i’s dimenssions are 99×47x14 mm and it weights 94 gr.
The display shows colors up to 262 K, having a resolution of 240×320 pixels. Like other Sony Ericsson models, the W580i has a mirror-layer very useful when the sun shines. All the button of this phone are lightened in white, offering a great vizibility. The Walkman button is in front, although it doesn’t behave like a musical one.
Other features of this phone include USB connectivity, Bluetooth 2, with A2DP support; an internal memory of 18 Mb, and 512 Mb on the memory card. But one of the greatest is the moving sensor, W580i offering two models: Walking and Running-when you walk or run the screen offers you all the information you need:distance, speed, individual measurments, etc, all these appearing quite strange for usual people. The sensor can also be used to activate the “shuffle mode”, this option being called “Shake Me”.
Sony Ericsson W580i is also equiped with a 2Mb camera, without autofocus, but with many options, like: auto-mode, Incandescence, Fluorescent, day-light, sepia, black&white, night mode, etc.
Other features of this phone are: messaging via MMS, SMS and E-mail; the MusicDj function; games; WAP access; Video Player and RadioFM.
All in all, Sony ericsson W580i is a good phone, with many features, but it is not the best of all.
