Today, Apple Inc. released an announcement confirming that its highly-anticipated iPhone has already passed several of its required certification tests and is still on schedule to ship to US customers through AT&T in late June. The “magical” phone, as manufacturer company calls it seems to have won much popularity as there is a large number of people that cannot wait to get their hands on the device.

Keeping the iPhone on track for release is not beneficial for one of Apple’s other new products though: the next version of Mac OS X, Leopard. Apple originally intended to ship Leopard at the World Wide Developers Conference in June, but due to the complexities of the software for the iPhone, has had to shift resources from the Mac OS team to work on the device. Leopard’s release date is now in October this year.
