Sprint and Samsung announced their new eco-friendly handset, the Samsung Reclaim, which comes of course in a Green color option.
The new strange device is made of corn-based bio plastic in proportion of 40%, recycled materials, has soy-based material, and it is also PVC and BFR-free. Its features are quite simple; it comes with full QWERTY keyboard, a 2 megapixel camera, GPS, social networking apps preloaded, like E-Mail, Facebook, YouTube. And pretty much that’s all.
It seems that the phone’s battery also consumes 12 times less energy than a normal phone. Well, I think the purpose of this phone is to make us more careful and attentive with our environment, which is a good thing.
The Samsung Reclaim will be available starting with the 16th of August 2009, through Sprint, in Green color option, at the price of $49,99, with a two-year contract. So if you are a nature and eco-lover, go grab it. 😉
